Funza Lushaka Application Requirements 2021. The Funza Lushaka scholarship, along with other requirements, contains an age limit for potential scholarship recipients. This scholarship is aimed at students and prospective students who wish to pursue a teaching career.
The government-subsidized Funza Lushaka Scholarship is a funding program aimed at students who want to enter the field of education as teachers. The scholarship that funds students year after year also has an age cap attached to its list of requirements for students to qualify for the program.
The age limit applies to all first-time applicants, allowing only students 30 and younger to have the opportunity to apply.
Among these requirements are the ineligibility of people with criminal records, people accused of misconduct and people laid off from work, to apply for the scholarship.
The scholarship funds students with qualifications that allow a specialization in teaching “in at least two priority subject areas,” as stated on the Funza Lushaka website.
The scholarship covers a large part of the treasurer’s expenses, including the student’s “meals, books and learning materials, teaching practice” and possibly a small allowance for other monthly living expenses.
Recipients of the fund will be able to repay their scholarship by teaching in a public school for the same number of years in which they were funded, with the payment of each year of funding offset by each year spent teaching in a public school.
