Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12; Certificate in Fire Technology; Fire Fighter 1 with Hazmat Awareness; Fire Fighter 2 with Hazmat Operations; Code C Driver’s License with valid PrDP; Emergency Services Driver/Operator (pumper/aerial); BLS registration (as defined by HPCSA)
  • 4 years’ relevant experience as Fire Fighter

Or

  • Grade 12; (SAESI / IFE Equivalent) Diploma in Fire Technology; (SAESI / IFE) Fire Fighter 1 with Hazmat Awareness, Fire Fighter 2 with Hazmat Operations; Code C Driver’s License with valid PrDP; Emergency Services Driver/Operator (pumper/aerial); BLS registration (as defined by HPCSA)
  • 4 years’ relevant experience as Fire Fighter

Core Responsibilities:




  • Manage station activities on shift level
  • Ensure effective and efficient service delivery and compliance with relevant statutory requirements
  • Respond immediately and safely to emergency calls/incidents
  • Perform all specialised procedures in dealing with emergency incidents
  • Adhere to governance and risk management in terms of legislation, policies and procedures
