Minimum Requirements:

  • National Diploma Personnel Management and Administration
  • Computer literacy
  • Communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Relevant experience

Core Responsibilities:

  • Upkeep of statistics in respect of credit control section
  • Recovery of all outstanding debt by disconnections and handing over to collection agents in order to reduce arrears of consumers
  • Register council claims regarding, insolvencies, liquidations, administrations notices and sales in executions in order to reduce council debt
  • Prepare write off report for irrecoverable debt such as deceased
  • Co-responsibility for the instruction to summons by writing instruction letters to collecting agents in order to recover outstanding debt
  • Co-responsibility for staying in contact with attorneys regarding outstanding cases by means of letters so as to know all the legal stages of each case
  • Co-responsibility to make sure that money recovered were correctly receipted and allocated
  • Co-responsibility for granting of extension issuing final notices, disconnection of consumer and the processes after disconnection
  • Responsible for the records relating to all credit control processes and policies
  • Responsible for the tracing of all closed accounts with debit balances and applying credit control measures
  • Keep, record and file documentation related to clearance issued
